Specified Product Orders

Access to an extended product portfolio provides vast possibilities. Working closely with a few, carefully selected international suppliers Illumina is able to ensure a vast range of offline and online products specified.

Through our selected international suppliers, the best quality and price to offer real value for money is ensured.

The project division provides one-off designs for hospitality projects, functional designs for residential renovation projects, as well as contemporary design-style ranges for lighting retailers who focus on decorative lighting.

Please note: Customized orders will not be cancelled. A 75% non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance of order with the balance payable before delivery.

 

Once the order is placed and the 75% deposit is paid, manufacturing time vary from 30 – 45 working days. ETA to the Cape Town harbour can take up to 30 days. From there it can take up to 15 days to clear the stock through customs. Sometimes unforeseeable circumstances that are out of our hands can delay the container(s) e.g. inspections by port authorities. Notifications of additional delays will be communicated.

 

Orders

The customer shall in its reasonable discretion be entitled to cancel an order by reason of delay in delivery to the customer.

 

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, no goods may be returned due to over-ordering or over-stocking. Any signs of damage or shop soiling will also be deducted from any credit note passed at our reasonable discretion. Illumina will charge a 10% handling fee and you will be liable for return delivery costs.

 

By keeping on-trend and selecting key items per season Illumina brings the trends to the market to ensure our customers are updated with the latest trends. Products are carefully sourced by the selection criteria that will ensure our customers are ahead of the game.

When catalogues are issued, all goods are offered subject to being in stock. Illumina reserves the right to discontinue or change the design of any item without prior notice.

Illumina always strives to replace discontinued items with an updated and on-trend product.

 

Delivery

All prices quoted are inclusive of V.A.T and indicated in ZAR (South African Rand).

PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

Trade Delivery Costs for Online Purchases: All orders delivered will be charged based on a table rate at 10% of the nearest R500 of the total order Value. Example: Order Value R1001 – R1500 = R150 Delivery Charge. This applies to all deliveries within South Africa. Should you wish to use your own courier/driver, you are welcome to collect at your own cost from our Cape Town warehouse.

Please Note: On any consignment to Namibia or any territory outside R.S.A., we suggest that you use your own courier. Please contact the customer care team if you would like to use the Illumina distribution network for a customized delivery quote.

For quality control purposes and to limit fraudulent deliveries, goods will be strictly delivered to the address on file as per your account details with Illumina. No orders will be delivered to your clients/customer.

 

All Illumina orders are delivered during business hours. Couriers are unfortunately not able to specify an exact delivery time for small to medium items, but for large items, couriers can advise morning or afternoon for delivery.

Illumina is currently unable to cater to any additional delivery requests including, but not limited to: express shipping, selection of specific delivery date or time and weekend deliveries.

 

Illumina sends products through one of several freight couriers including SkyNet and Intertown Transport. The standard agreement with all couriers does not include a call to arrange a suitable delivery time. However, once items have left the warehouse, the journey can be tracked online.

Please note: Delivery dates shown on the couriers’ websites are only estimates Illumina cannot take any liability for late deliveries. Illumina shall not be liable for any damages for failure to affect delivery/dispatch timeously for any reason whatsoever.

Items will be sent to the shipping address provided when placing the order. A PO Box cannot be accepted as a shipping address because the couriers are unable to deliver to a PO Box. Please provide a street address for delivery.

Usually, a courier delivery is sent straight to your doorstep and requires a signature upon delivery to acknowledge that the items have been received in a reasonable order.

Due to security and liability restriction of the couriers, the customer is responsible for bringing any of such merchandise inside. We therefore recommend that you have someone available to help carry the items inside, unpack and install.

If, for any reason, the courier is not able to successfully deliver the order, they could leave a card with further delivery instructions. In these situations, Illumina reserves the right to charge you for any additional costs incurred (e.g. delivery and storage) or to cancel the sale contract, in which case, Illumina will fully refund you the net amount (i.e. the amount paid minus additional delivery or storage costs).

In very exceptional cases, where delivery may result in unusually high courier charges (including, but not limited to, remote delivery locations, inner city deliveries, International deliveries, etc.), Illumina reserves the right to cancel an order. Please contact Illumina to check if the location may be subject to unusually high courier charges.

Illumina does not offer Express shipping.

 

Illumina only delivers orders within business hours.

 

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

In the unlikely event that the product arrives damaged or faulty, please notify Illumina within 10 working days after receipt of product for a repair, replacement (if available), credit or a full refund as per invoice amount. Please contact our Customer Care Team on 021 534 3636 or email customercare@illumina.co.za to assist with organising your claim.

It may be required to send images of the damage for further assessment. In the case of a valid warranty claim, Illumina (Pty) Ltd will strive to repair the product. If that is not possible, the product will be replaced. Should Illumina (Pty) Ltd be unable to repair or replace the product, a credit/refund will be passed on to you for the value of the product on date of invoice. Please do not attempt to return the items before speaking to one of Illumina’s sales representatives; otherwise you may be responsible for any associated expenses if you do so.

Returned goods must be always be in the original Illumina packaging, as it was sent out.

Please note that the following will void any warranty claims:

  • Negligence – where the client or the installation electrician did not install the product as per standard installation procedures.
  • Misuse – where the product was not used for its intended purpose or used outside of the scope of listed technical specifications.
  • Visible damage – where the products are damaged after they have been received and Illumina (Pty) Ltd was not notified thereof within 10 working days of receipt of products.
  • Modifications – where the product was amended, adjusted or tampered with in such a way that it is deemed as modified from the condition that it was originally supplied to you.
  • We will not refund or replace a product that the customer has bought and received where, in our reasonable opinion, the product has: become of unacceptable quality due to fair wear and tear; misuse; failure to use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions; using it in an abnormal way; or failure to take reasonable care.

 

In the unlikely case that you received an incorrect item, please contact our Customer Care Team with the following information:

  • Order number
  • Item name and SKU
  • Photo of the item you received

 

Returned goods must be always be in the original Illumina packaging, as it was sent out.

In case the order arrived missing a part, please contact us within 10 working days after receipt of goods and provide Illumina with the following information. Illumina will resolve this issue immediately:

  • Order number
  • Item name and SKU
  • Detailed description of the missing part
  • Photo to show which part is missing

 

Illumina works closely with suppliers to ensure all products have appropriate warranties. All products purchased and delivered by Illumina (Pty) Ltd have a 1 year warranty from date of receipt of invoice. This warranty will cover you against faulty workmanship and/or material.

Please email customercare@illumina.co.za or call the Customer Care Team on 021 534 3636 to submit a warranty claim. It may be required to send images of the damage to aid in our assessments. Illumina will then finalise your warranty claim. Please do not attempt to return the items before speaking to one of Illumina’s sales representatives; otherwise you may be responsible for any associated expenses if you do so.
